Somalilandsun – The international community is gradually coming to grasp the activities of Somali owned Business concerns as pertains to local development interventions.
This was stated by the Dahabshiil group of Companies Chief Executive Officer Abdirashid Duale during an interview with the Voice if America-VOA Somali service that came in the heels of the Somaliland owned company winning the Business of the Year award at the just concluded International Somali Awards (ISA) in London which were co-sponsored by the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office
While receiving the award in London Mr Duale said: “At the core of our business is a strong desire to bring financial services to previously unbanked, marginalized and financially excluded communities, this extends to the role of women and girls in the workplace and wider community, which is critical to social development. We see every day, the incredible women who work within our organization as well as those we support through small business loans and youth mentoring programmes.
