HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – “Vaccinating ourselves and children is worthy of not only our health but that of the nation whose engine is citizens”
This was said by the president of Somaliland Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo at the presidency in Hargeisa where together with 1st lady Ms Amina Weris received polio vaccination thus jumpstarting the nationwide campaign.
H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohammud and the First Lady Amina Sheikh Mohammed Jirde were given the inoculation in which the adults are incorporated in for the first time since cases of grown-ups struck down with polio was reportedly witnessed in the neighbouring countries.
The countrywide campaign exercise is scheduled to kick-off this morning Sunday, the 20th of October 2013.
