Somaliland, which is celebrated every year on the 4th of December, which is an international day designated by the United Nations to celebrate that day in the world and to raise awareness about HIV/Aids, the event was organized by the commission to control and fight against HIV/AIDS. attended by the heads of the AIDS Commission, members of the cabinet and other officials.
The event was also attended by officials from the Taiwan Embassy in Hargeisa, officials from the World Health Organization (WHO) and many dignitaries.
The director of the HIV/AIDS control commission, Ismail Sheikh Muhammed, who first spoke on the occasion, talked about the things they have done as a commission and how they raise awareness about the disease.
The director also explained the importance of the medicine for the patient living with the disease, and said that the transmission of the disease decreased when the patient took the medicine, and it is necessary that every patient living with the disease should take the medicine.
The director also said in the forum that there is no general care for the community living with HIV/AIDS, nor is there anyone who takes special care of these patients and takes responsibility, but he noted that the diagnosis and treatment of the disease is It is skinless.
We called on the community living with HIV/AIDS to stop discrimination and be part of the community, and dare to go out and share with people.
Among the officials who attended the HIV/AIDS Day commemoration were the Director of the Somaliland Ministry of Health, Dr. Mohamed Abdi Xergeye emphasized the importance of holding such meetings for the community living with the disease and educating them to take medicine and adapt to the community.
