BERBERA (Somalilandsun) – A woman has died while a young man is in a coma following a fatal shooting in the Somaliland port city of Berbera.
The death and life threatening injuries occurred on Friday afternoon after a man identified as Tabarak Mohamed Duale shot and killed the woman at her tea shop in the port city while his initial target, a son of member of parliament Mohamed Farah Qabile sustained life threatening injuries for which he is in hospital reportedly in a deep coma.
The killer Tabarak Mohamed Duale was last known to be in police custody after he was arrested in Dar’buruq District of Sahil region following a botched attempt on the life of MP Qabile.
Following the new killing it appears that the killer whose release from police custody remains mysterious is on a vengeance on the MPs family having failed to eliminate the legislator during the botched assassination of 22nd October 2o13 in which the target fingered two senior government personalities as having been behind the move.
If reports from eye witnesses are correct the assassin was in this occasion driver a car said to belong to one of the two government officials and originally from Berbera accused by MP Qabile as being behind the attempt on his life.
To date a despite condmenations from vaious quarters be it from the government or political leadership the botched assasination has not been addressed though the two enior officias accused by MP Qabile as responsible have publicly denied any part.
