Somalilandsun- Air Djibouti is the latest international carrier to establish a regular route to the Somaliland capital and beyond.
Air Djibouti, also known as Red Sea Airlines, which is the flag carrier of Djibouti made its maiden flight to the country on the 29th October that saw its plane undertake a direct flight from its home port in Djibouti to Berbera via Hargeisa.
A broad state reception team led by aviation minister was at hand to welcome Air Djibouti at both Egal international airport in Hargeisa and Berbera airport in the coastal town where the carrier made a test landing.
Congratulating the airliner for initiating its Somaliland route, aviation minister Farnhan Adnaan Haybe said local citizens were honored by the Air Djibouti gesture that shall go along way towards facilitating ease of transport cost effectively.
The aviation minister was flanked by his defense colleague Ahmed haji Adami said the ease of access facilitated by Air Djibouti is not only internationally but locally as well since local citizens will now be able to commute between the serviced cities quickly and devoid of wasted hours and fatigue.
The Djibouti team at the reception was composed of the Neighbouring country’s envoy to Somaliland, Amb Hussein Omar and the airliner’s commercial manager Eric Bartic both of who were in tandem as pertains to sustained operations and at a competitive charges.
