Somalilandsun: Zambia and Somaliland have committed to pursuit of enhanced government0 and People to people relations.
This was mutually concurred during a telephone conversation between the President of Somaliland Musa Bihi and his Zambian Counterpart President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
The conversation was facilitated by the Zambian justice minister Gavin Lubinda who is in Hargeisa where he is leading an official delegation from Lusaka.
Prior to the tet ‘a” tet between the two heads of state , the visiting Zambians were briefed on the history of Somaliland and prevalent status by a government team led by President Bihi.
The two sides both former British protectorates also reaffirmed enhanced diplomatic, trade and people movement relations.
The Zambian friendship with post self rule reclamation Somaliland can be traced to former Kenneth Kaunda who twice visited Hargeisa and enjoyed good relations with the people and government .
This visit by a high powered Zambian delegation is a testimony of the increasing relations between Somaliland and countries in East, Central and South Africa.
Others to recently visit Somaliland or host a state delegation from Hargeisa include iMalawi, South Africa . and Kenya.
