somalilandsun- The Somaliland ministry of health has revealed the death of 10 people in Buhoodle district and surrounding areas.
The announcement was made in a press conference issued by the Director General ministry of health Mohamed Abdi Heergeye in Hargeisa where he also disclosed that the deaths were occasioned by Acute Diarrhea and suspected diphtheria.
“The central government is containing the outbreak with the dispatch of medics composed of teams from the eastern regions and the from the capital Hargeisa” Said the DG adding that so far a large number of affected persons have been treated and are now safe.
For almost a fortnight the malady has been experienced in the country’s eastern regions especially areas surrounding Buhoodle, Ainabo and Widhwidh where health officials had reported around seven deaths.
The ministry has appealed to residents of the affected areas feeling unwell to report immediately to nearby health facilities for examination and subsequent treatment
