Hargeisa (Somalilandsun) -The deputy chairman of National Party (Wadani) Mr. Ahmed Mumin Seed has accused the ruling party Kulmiye for witch hunting.

According to local reports Mr. Seed said that the government had ordered a contingent of anti-riot police officers to block opposition supporters from gaining access to the road leading to Egal International Airport where the National Party Chairman Hon. Abdirahman Mohammed Abdillahi (Irro) was being welcomed from his European tour.

This is the second time opposition leaders have been humiliated by the ruling party. Earlier this week the chairman for the party and development Mr. Faisal Ali Warabe was forced to carry his suitcase from the plane a distance of 500m to the parking lot of Egal International Airport. His party’s presidential aspirant Mr. Jamal Ali Hussein and party supporters were refused entry to the airport and had to wait for the opposition chief outside. They were also denied access of the VIP lounge of arrival terminal.

Mr. Seed went on “We consulted the regional security committee about the security arrangement and told them that Wadani is not ready for any confrontation with the government”.

The Vice-chairman said that the buses they had hired to carry their supporters to the airport were stopped by the police from proceeding toward their airport.

“It looks as if the government is stirring trouble and inciting for violence” he added.

The Wadani Deputy added that they had asked their supporters not to be intimidated by the government, to which they heeded such that everything ran smoothly.
