Hargeisa: (Somalilandsun) – The Speaker of the Parliament Hon. Abdirahman M. Abdillahi Irro was categorical that the decision to change the parliamentary sub-committees and the subsequent elected heads was legal and quite binding hence would have its new status quo remain solid.

The speaker gave the statement of the thorny issue which threatened to split the august house into politically charged poles pitting bitter loggerheads against each other, upon arrival from abroad at the airports VIP lounge.

Hon. Irro who happens to be the Wadani party opposition leader equally told off the ruling party (KULMIYE) chairman for putting words he never uttered into his mouth.

At the same time, the Speaker maintained that the public debate fronted by the opposition alliance will have to be held hence its agenda would mainly be gender issues (quotas), forth coming elections, SL recognition and also the expected registration of the electorate.

Thousands of citizens welcome Irro

The Speaker challenged Mr. Muse Bihi to prove that the former (Irro) went public advocating for tribal meetings to be held.

He expressed shock that Mr. Bihi could utter things for the sake of hoodwinking the members of the public.

This is the first time that the speaker is taking a hard political stance, given that being an opposition party leader; he usually portrayed a conservative and fence-sitting image.
