As President Guelleh receives and parleys a high-level delegation from Somaliland

Somaliland sun- The governments of Somaliland and Djibouti have concurred on the imperatives for the promotion of friendly and cooperative relations.
This development came as The President of the Republic, His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, received a high-level delegation headed by Somaliland’s Foreign Minister, Mr. Saad Ali Shire, at the Djibouti Presidential Palace at the end of the morning on 07/06/2017
The promotion of friendly and cooperative relations between Djibouti and Somaliland and, above all, the realization of new cooperation agreements between the two parties in a critical number of areas, including security, trade and livestock, Discussed during the meeting.
The meeting also served as an opportunity for the Somaliland delegation to brief the Djiboutian Head of State on the steps taken to put the forthcoming presidential election (February 2018) in this country in a transparent and expansive manner To all localities in Somaliland.
At the end of his talks with President Guelleh, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somaliland welcomed, at the microphone of the Djiboutian press, the ” friendly and fraternal framework in which the discussions with the Head of State place. “
He also took advantage of this contact with the media to express his ” thanks to the People and the Government of Djibouti for the valuable assistance they regularly bring to Somaliland during times of great distress, particularly in drought situations “
Several ministers from Somaliland accompany Mr Saad Ali Chireh as part of his working visit to Djibouti.
These are the Minister of Education, the Minister of Youth and Sport, the Minister of Commerce, the Minister of New Technologies in charge of Relations with the Parliament and the Minister of Livestock.
The Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, took part in the talks who was flanked by the Djibouti Representative to Somaliland, Mr. Houssein Omar Kawalieh
The Somaliland delegation headed by Foreign Affairs minister Dr Saad Ali Shire that met with President Ismail Omar Guelleh in Djibouti included the livestock, Youth & Sports ,Education, Councils Cordination and Trade ministers complimented by the Somaliland Representative to Djibouti.
