Somalilandsun: Words cannot indicate how proud citizens of Somaliland are whenever there president is accorded a red carpet welcome by our neighbours.
This was stated by leader of the opposition UCID party Eng Feisal Ali Warabe in Burao while addressing party supporters.
The opposition politician who was reacting to the ongoing state visit by President Musa Bihi Abdi in Djibouti said the welcome with a bouguet of flowers and red-carpet accorded president Bihi at the Djiboutian airport was a measure of the brotherly bilateral relations existing between the two countries.
Stressing on the fact that citizens of Somaliland have for ages stood with their Djiboutian brothers and sisters in whatever circumstances, Eng Warabe said it is time for reciprocal treatment.
Said he “Though the president Ismail Omar Guelleh is well aware of our position on the Sovereignty of our country , he has remained determined to our reunification with Somalia”
“Somaliland is an independent country and therefore fail to understand your continued reference to the 4.5 maths that governed the collapsed Republic of Somalia”
The Somaliland opposition politician who wished fruitful deliberations between the two heads of state said it was now time for the Djiboutian president to change tack.
“My message to you President Ismail Omar Guelleh is that, It is time for your personally , the government and people of Djibouti to support our Sovereignty.
While Djibouti maintains very cordial relations with Somaliland president Guelleh is a diehard adherent to the notion of a united Somalia of which Somaliland is part and parcel.
