Somalilandsun: British MP Attends Somaliland Independence Day Celebrations in London
A British member of parliament Hon. Gavi Alexander Williamson attended Somaliland independence day 18th May celebrations in London which was organised by friends of Somaliland.
Addressing the guests at the event Hon.Gavi Williamson stated that the international community had taken long to recognise Somaliland as an independent state.
He said the people of Somaliland had rebuilt their country from scratch after the former regime of Somalia had bombarded Hargeisa and other Somaliland towns to rubble.
The British MP revealed that he will continue to lobby for Somaliland recognition by the international community.
He stated that Somaliland international borders cannot be compromised and should be respected.
Also attending the event were foreign affairs minister Dr.Issa Keyd Mohamud, Somaliland international recognition envoy Mrs.Edna Ismael Adam and state owned newspapers Dawan chairman Mr.Mohamed Ahmed Jama (Alole).
