HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Though women political caucus aligned to the ruling Kulmiye were initially promised to be reserved seats at parliamentary and civic elections the same was missing at the concluded National Delegates Convention (NDC) that finalized with no women elected to steer the national affairs of the ruling party.

This is contrary to the head of state’s promise while addressing the delegates at the two days forum which was held at Mansour Hotel in Hargeisa.

Women politicians had earlier asked the President to reserve them seats at parliamentary & civic level in a move meant to narrow gender disparities delegates saw no need of electing women in Kulmiye’s governing council.

President Silanyo in his address of delegates attending the conference praised the role played by women in his Government.
