Somalilandsun:“Somaliland will not secede an inch of its territory, the war will continue until the enemy is defeated” Says president in speech to the nation
The head of state H.E Musa Bihi Abdi has stated that the war in Sool region of Somaliland will not end until the enemy is defeated.
President Bihi said this while addressing the nation during 32nd anniversary of Somaliland independence from Somalia.
The president narrated the long struggle Somaliland had under gone to regain her independence from Italy former colony, Somalia. He reminded the audience about those who sacrificed their lives for the people of Somaliland to free again.
Somaliland united with Somalia in the 1960 but the union was very treacherous for the people of Somaliland. They were treated with contempt, malice and denied basic human rights.
This forced the inhabitants of North Western part of Somalia then to start a guerrilla war against the dictatorial regime of Colonel Siad Barre. He was later ousted and fled the country thus on 18th May 1991 Somaliland declared her independence from Somalia in Burao Town.
He revealed that his government has a lot of information from war ravaged Sool region, and intelligence report confirms the perpetrators of the destabilisation plot and their agenda.
