HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Departmental heads from the Hargeisa Municipality have given a detailed brief to the central government on various aspects of Service Provision for residents of the Somaliland capital city.
This development follows an inspection tour of the city municipality undertaken by Vice president Abdirahman Abdilahi Sayli with the purpose of acclimatizing central government authorities with both success and challenges facing local government’s endeavors to provide apt services.
Flanked by the Mayor and deputy of Hargeisa Councillors Soltelco and Agaweine the Somaliland VP who upon taking a complete tour of the municipalities’ headquarters and getting a brief from each departmental head later met with city fathers who wrapped the tour with a detailed overview of ongoing.
The VP Sayli inspection tours of local councils promised for the entire local councils in the country have been welcomed by citizens who are of the opinion that their elected local representatives are sitting on their laurels and not providing as required thence the need for some wake up acts from the central authorities.
Reliable sources have it that the tour by VP Sayli is also connected with issues pertaining to the failure by the Hargeisa municipality to complete the refurbishment and subsequent official opening of the Qura’dheer market while adjacent one at Mohamed Moge estate whose works started after the Qura’dheer one has already been effected.
