HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The United nations International Child Education Fund-UNICEF has been acknowledge for its development activities in the country during the past 20 years.
The acknowledgements were conveyed to the UN agency by the Somaliland Vice president Abdirahman Abdilahi Sayli during the official opening of offices premises owned by UNICEF in Hargeisa
“Construction of your own premises proves your commitment to continued interventions in Somaliland” said VP Sayli
The VP who promised continued government partnership and support to UNICEF activities especially in the areas of education, health and water development in which the UN agency’s interventions have achieved a lot.
According to a representative of the agency activities in the country were started in Somaliland in 1972 and apart from a short hiatus during the civil war interventions have continued incessantly
