Somalilandsun – Somaliland citizens have both the motive and opportunity to look back into the brilliant performance and progress achieved by President Silaanyo’s government during the past 5 years.
Somaliland people were well aware of the unfavorable economic hardship and social challenges in which the current government started when they took the office, where they have come from and where they are now. After five years, with a sense of satisfaction, Somaliland people see and recognize the undeniable progress in different fields and the substantial achievement this government has realized. After five years, the economic and social change in our country is practically everywhere visible; every government department is on the rise and is thriving at an astonishingly fast pace.

The victory has so many rivals, so it is to be expected that the successes and positive results achieved by the current government will not be appreciated by everyone in our society. Surely, there will always be politically and morally estranged individuals that will go on endlessly about their accusation and blame towards the President, his family and his Cabinet members. So when these people attacking his government’s act, doing and get things done, they are often attacking the achievements and opted political direction of his government in the personality of the President.
Those people are blinded by hatred and resentment and they do not wish to see or acknowledge the facts on the ground. However, the most pathetic pessimist on earth is the person who denies the good things that has been done for the wider societal and public interest, regardless of who has done it. Anyone who denies the good things realized by others for the benefit of our people and country, that person is unworthy and has no place in our society.
A leader should be judged on the basis of his historical and political credentials, vision and moral conviction. President Silaanyo’s life and legacy is the biggest lesson, motivation, inspiration and commitment that any Somaliland President can give to this great nation, the Republic of Somaliland. President Ahmed Silaanyo’s government represents and reflects the values, will of the people, sacrifice and history of our great nation; at the same time his government is doing its utmost to voice and realize the ideals and ambitions lived and believed by the people of Somaliland.
Proactive, assertive and effective Foreign Policy:
Night landing lights installed as part of the Egal International Airport ultra modernization in Hargeisa SomalilandBefore President Ahmed Silaanyo came to power, the Republic of Somaliland was a completely invisible and anonymous country that neither was a player nor spectator on regional and international policy playgrounds. The current administration has transformed our country from a completely introverted and isolated country into an internationally respected partner for peace, stability and democracy. To keep pace with the transnational security, economic and diplomatic challenge in the Horn of African region and beyond, a broad-minded, flexible and well-structured foreign policy is of vital importance. Therefore, the mission and vision of President Ahmed Silaanyo’s government is to build up an effective and progressive foreign and international cooperation policy that breaks new ground and shed light on geo-political significance as well as the abundant natural resources of the Republic of Somaliland. The Foreign Policy approach of the Republic of Somaliland is a proactive, assertive and effective policy. It is a policy with courage and confidence that breaks the barriers of self-imposed exclusion and limitation of the last two decades. The diplomatic offensive of the recent weeks (to UAE and Ethiopia) carried out by President Silaanyo’s government is an exemplary diplomatic endeavour.
Despite the great diplomatic and security challenges lie ahead for the Somaliland government, I am fully convinced that President Ahmed Silaanyo’s government is steadfastly determined to remain actively involved in all major diplomatic, security, economic and development fronts. Further, the current government never compromises upon the sovereignty, integrity and independence of the Somaliland Republic as well as the aspirations and self-determination of its people. President Ahmed Silaanyo’s government believes fully in exploring of all options (socio-economic and diplomatic advancement) to achieve its goals which best meets the needs and challenges facing the people of Somaliland today.
Eng. Hussein Adan Igeh Hussein DeyrIn view of the hazardous and unpredictable security, economic and diplomatic situations surrounding in the Horn of Africa region and beyond, the Republic of Somaliland is today more and more valued and respected as a Regional and Global Partner for peace, stability and democracy. President Ahmed Silaanyo’s government has lifted Somaliland’s case in a new level; they brought a new inspiring element of the much coveted and cherished ideals of Somaliland people as a free and independent nation at the centre of the world community. President Ahmed Silaanyo’s government manifests a collective and effective strategy based on a clear vision and mission, inspiration and ambition, sincerity and sense of social responsibility, focusing mainly on general public interest rather than specific inner circle groups. The combination of these moral principles paved the way and enabled the current administration make possible all these consecutive achievements.
As a citizen of the Republic Somaliland, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the President and his Cabinet members for the fulfillment of their electoral promise, for their dutiful devotion and dedication to serve their country and people as well as the achieved results during their administration period.
God Bless the Republic of Somaliland and its Noble people
