HARGEISA: (Somalilandsun)-The Interior Minister Hon. Ali Mohammed Waran’adde took a swipe at UCID opposition leader Feisal Ali Warabe for asserting that the opposition fraternity would commence parallel talks with Somalia in protest to their exclusion from governments Turkey delegation.
“Feysal’s utterances are quite dangerous because they directly undermine the essence of the country’s nationhood”, said Hon. Waran’adde characterizing them as subversive treachery.
He observed that, “Hitherto, the talks issue was an abomination (closed) but since the legislature reviewed the matter they made amendments which gave the executive arm of the government the authority to indulge in such talks”.
He said that it was the government’s prerogative to send its team hence could thus name whoever it chose and deemed fit.
The minister said that such loose talk by Feisal would only land him in the docks if unchecked since the country has its constitution which guides it.
He reminded the populace that Feisal happened to be one of the delegates who represented SL in the Somalia talks on several occasions but was seen to be out of conduct.
“He used to meet Somalia delegations separately and on numerous times whatever they indulged into is suspiciously unknown”, said the minister.
“Those actions and the present threats only depict him as one with no clear-cut direction”, accused the minister.
He warned that the state would not condone such behavior of treachery not only from him but from anyone else.
The UCID boss has since maintained his stance reiterating that the opposition “will not recognize the outcomes of the talks” that is to be held from the 15th of January 2014 in Turkey.
