HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The ministry of environment & rural development in collaborations with international and local organizations dealing with environmental matters has on Thursday opened a one day workshop to sensitize the city residents on safe & friendly environmental practices.
The Director General of environment ministry Mr. Mohamed Farah Hirsi while opening the workshop at Man-sour hotel in Hargeisa urged participants to employ sound environmental practices to avoid damaging the very pillars of nature that would consequently bear grave catastrophic hindrances to present as well as future generations.
The environment D.G. advised the city dwellers to cease deforestation by embarking on a vigorous campaign of a forestation.
Finally Mr. Hersi advised the workshop participants to practice what they have learnt from the attendance of the workshop and also raise awareness to their colleagues who could not attend the seminar which was organized by Golis, a local organization dealing with environmental issues of concerned.
