HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The Somaliland Hospitality Industry is home to a new posh facility dubbed Damal Hotel.
Occupying the three upper floors of the 6 storey’s Dahabshil Business Centre-DBC in Hargeisa Damal Hotel was launched at a colourful ceremony that had invited guests straddling all spheres of life and jointly officiated by the Somaliland Interior Minister Mohamed Ali Waran’ade and Chairman of the Dahabshil Group of Companies Mr. Mohamed Saeed Duale.
Other dignitaries included the deputy commerce and international trade minister Rashid Abdi Harir , Central Bank Governor , Chairperson of the Somaliland Chamber of commerce and industry as well as a motley of prominent business, Traditional and religious leadership personalities.
After inspecting fasciitis and services provided within the Sprawling 6 storey’s Dahabshil Business Centre that include Banking, Medical, Shopping Mall, Mosque with 200 Persons capacity, Clients parking lot among other amenities the invited guests at the launch ceremony converged at spacious lounge of Damal Hotel, Which was focus of the function.
Complimenting the Dahabshil Group of Companies Proprietors owners of the DBC for their infusion, without fear of loss, of colossal sums of money into the country where the locals owned group has developed several infrastructures of world standards the Minister of Interior Mohamed Ali Waran’ade who was chief guest urged other citizens within and in the Diaspora to follow suit.
“While it is a fact that the Dahabshil family has enhanced the economic wellbeing of the country through their various investments not to mention contributions towards community based projects, their efforts need to be supplemented by other finical able citizens as well” said Waran’ade
Referring to earlier briefing by the DBC in which the complex currently employs over two hundred citizens a few months after inauguration by President Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo, the Interior minister said that similar investments by other citizens would help to drastically reduce acute unemployment in the country while alleviating poverty at the same time.
Terming the DBC complex which is located in the Hargeisa Central Business district as the pride of the city council, Councillor Abdiaziz Mohamed Hashi the local council’s deputy cum acting mayor stressed on the importance of the opened Damal hotel which will provide visitors with world class hospitality services smack in the centre of town.
Concluding the congratulatory speeches was the Chairman of the Dahabshil Group of Companies Mr. Mohamed Saeed Duale informed that the multifaceted DBC is not slated for Hargeisa only but shall be established in each of the country’s major towns before expanding elsewhere.
At Damal Hotel –DH the modern hospitality facility occupying the three upper storey’s of DBC customers have a variety of choices from the 105 spacious and comfortable rooms to choose from ranging from Super Deluxe, Deluxe, Suite and Family accommodations to choose from.

For this writer the most astounding thing to happen during the Dahabshil Business Centre cum Damal Hotel Grand opening was the thrill of riding from the ground to 6th floor in a lift.
