HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The government shall in 2015 expend US $251m in its operations nationwide.
This development follows the approval of the ministry of finance submitted 2015 national budget by the House of representatives, the Somaliland lower chamber of parliament at session that saw 43 members make-up the quorum.
Chaired by the speaker Abdirahman Irro who did not vote 39 legislators voted Aye while three abstained thus paving the way for the administration of president Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo start preparations for funds disbursement as per 2015 budgetary plans as indicated in the graph above

The budget submitted to parliament by Finance minister Abdiaziz Samale and State Minister Sahardiid on 30th November and amounting to $251m is the biggest in the history of Somaliland having surpassed the previous one by almost a third.

Among areas of interest allocated in the budget is the planned presidential and parliamentary elections slated for mid 2015 thence giving Somalilanders an opportunity to rethink on who should represent them at the August house in relation to the lackluster performance of sitting members who after 2 consecutive unelected terms seem to have assumed airs of permanency as can be ascertained by today’s session in which only half the house quorum was in attendance for such an issue of magnitude.
