Somaliland: Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Staffers Sanitize National Stadium

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) -Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Mr. Hussein Abdi Duale led several departments of his ministry in the National Sanitation Day April 7, 2015 which the president of Somaliland H.E Ahmed Mohammed Mahmud (Silanyo) kicked off in all regions of the country.

Minister Hussein mobilized ministry staff in the hygiene exercise and was instrumental in cleaning the area between Hargeisa National Stadium and Sinai estate. He also removed garbage inside the stadium. The minister speaking to reporters while the cleaning exercise was ongoing stated “It is vital for all citizens to take responsibilities of their actions and make sure they do not throw litter everywhere and instead put it in designated areas earmarked by city council. I’m very impressed and would like to congratulate Ministry of Energy and Mineral resources that have done a marvelous job; I would also like to that all Somalilanders for responding to the president call and participating in the cleanliness exercise.”

Speaking at the venue Maroodi-jeeh region Governor Mr. Mohammed Mohamed Jeni-yare flanked by Maroodi-jeeh regional secretary and Ahmed Degaha district commissioner said “I thank minister of energy and mineral resources and his employees for doing a great job in Ahmed Degaha district.”
National Sanitation Day is the brainchild of president Silanyo who once in office took the responsibility and announced that the country should after every 40 day take part in this campaign to make Somaliland a better place to live by encouraging at the same time sensitizing the public of the importance of a clean environment.
The latest exercise flanked off by President Silanyo took place in the entire country where civil servants and the members of the armed forces took part.
