Somalilandsun – Abdillahi Mohammed Dahir U’kuse has called upon the opposition parties to work closely with the government such that the forth coming general elections should not be derailed again.
The minister who holds the Information, National Gudance and Heritage portfolio gave the sentiments when he met the executive of the Somaliland Journalists Association.
He cautioned the political parties to desist from what caused the derailment in the first instance.
The minister who happens to be the chief official government spokesman at the same time praised the political parties and the government for accepting the judicial decision which ruled that the elections be held in early 2017.
He said that it was incumbent upon the stakeholders to ask themselves what went wrong before such that they correct any mistakes. Hon Ukuse stated that the state was ready to hold the elections in time before, just as they are ready now.
“The government was ready before and is ready now to have smooth elections being held on time”, said the minister
