Hargeisa (Somalilandsun) – “I thank the elders on the resolutions reached at the summit” stated Chairman Muuse Biihi.
The chairman of KULMIYE Muuse Biihi Abdi answers queries put forward by the opposition party of WADANI which wanted to know the points agreed upon on Djibouti summit. Addressing the reporters the chairman reiterated that they cannot negotiate sovereignty and statehood of Somaliland.
He also addresses that the president of Djibouti had led the delegation to discuss issues that is between Somaliland and Somalia.
“Djibouti is the best country to be involved in Somaliland affairs; the president of Djibouti is at prime position that is aware of the issues that relates Somaliland and Somalia.” Said the chairman.
This was after the London conference and the Turkey meeting which was presided by the Turkish prime minister of the time and who is now the president of Turkey.
The president reiterated the position of Somaliland at length in the meetings. The president also highlighted Djibouti’s strong points being both a neighbor and a member of IGAD.
“The issue Somaliland (Former British Protectorate) separated itself from Somalia is not an issue that cannot be negotiated.” Said Muuse Biihi.
However, Muuse Biihi also welcomed the resolutions reached by the committee for the development of Saad Muuse which supported the president to vie for a second term in an office in the upcoming general election.
“I fully accepted the resolution that you have reached and I fully support them.” Said Chaiman Muuse.
