HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Six months to his appointment the clerk to the Hargeisa Municipality has been fired with immediate effect.
The firing of Ibrahim Ahmed Raabi as clerk to the city council was mentioned in passing by a letter from the minister of Interior Mohamed Waran’ade appointing Ahmed Mohamed Abdilahi ‘Darejo’ as the new clerk.
Addressing the incoming clerk and copied to his deputy in charge of administration, the council, Maroodi-jeeh (Hargeisa) regional governor the interior minister wrote
“I hereby inform you that Ahmed Mohamed Abdilahi ‘Darejo’ is the new clerk to the Hargeisa Municipality as from today 9th Jan 2016 thence the District head should effect immediate handover’
While the minister did not give reasons behind his move members of the city council have in the recent past been involved in wrangles related to the disposed clerk which some claim is political party oriented.
