Somaliland: Ghana Appoints Lander as its Humanitarian Ambassador

Amb Moha Farah Jire from Somaliland, A senior journalist and Goodwill Ambassador for African Journalists, is recognized as an African Icon and nominated Ghana’s Humanitarian Goodwill Ambassador.

ACCRA- The government of Ghana has appointed a youthful Somalilander as its envoy for international humanitarian affairs.

The ambassadorship of Ms Moha Dahir Farah Jire was announced by the Ghanaian minister of foreign affairs Ms Hanna Tetteh in a press statement in which she also said that “The people and Government of Ghana have full confidence in the performance of diligent ambassadorial duties by the appointee”

The choice and subsequent appointment of Ms Dahir as Ghana’s Goodwill ambassador for international Humanitarian activities was due to the diplomatic prowess discerned during her career at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa Ethiopia said the ministry of foreign in Accra.

Ms Moha Dahir is the immediate past chairperson of African Journalists for Renaissance JAR, a position she held for a number of years having been elected while working as the head of international and African affairs news desk at the Somaliland national TV-SLNTV Chanel.

in Accra, Ghana where she thanked Ghanaians for the diplomatic duties given, Ambassador Moha Dahir said that she was very grateful for her nomination which was not only a personal honour but one her motherland of Somaliland shares.

“While the bestowed upon me is onerous and has great challenges I pledge to serve all the needy and vulnerable ones, but we can develop together all the lives of vulnerable kids'” said Ambassador Moha Dahir

According to Amb Moha Farah her inspiration for public service is inspired by both Mother Teresa and Mahatma whom she is known to quote frequently.

Her favourite Mother Teresa quote is “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

While that from Mahatma Gandhi says “There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.”

She vowed to follow these words of great personalities and work hard to reach all African Children.
