HELSINKI (Somalilandsun) – Finnish authorities are to host Somaliland government officials for discussions on bi-lateral relations.
This outcome is as a result of a meeting between the Somaliland Health minister Dr Suleiman Isse Ahmed ‘Hagaltosie’ and Finnish officials among them Deputy prime minister Mrs. Juttta Urpilainen , education minister Mrs. Kirsta Kiuru and several members of the Finnish parliament.
Dr Hagaltosie who is accompanied by Hargeisa Group Hospital’s CEO Dr. Ahmed Omar Askar was in that country for an official visit where he consulted with various institutions and briefed Finnish Somalilanders at a meeting in Turku town where a majority of somalilanders reside.
Following a detailed briefing by Dr Hagaltosie on Somaliland’s history since 1991 when it revoked its union with Somalia Mrs. Urpilainen the deputy premier who also doubles as finance minister said that an official invitation shall be extended to Dr Hagaltosie and other stakeholders thence meet with Finnish officials for a strategy on bi-lateral relations between the two countries.
This is the second visit to Finland undertaken by the Somaliland health minister Dr Suleiman Hagaltosie since assuming office.
