HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Geared towards helping professionals achieve success by providing accurate in-depth knowledge, and networking opportunities the Somali Economic Forum-SEF through a gold sponsorship from Dahabshil Company brought together Business professionals the SEF’s annual event 2013 at the Hilton Hyde park .

The SEF 2013 event was sponsored by Dahabshiil was designed for investors, entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals who are looking to gain more business and investment knowledge that can be used for business gains or just to enhance their career

The participants who were mostly up and coming professionals from various sectors and mostly of Somali origin which was joined by a sprinkle of their peers from other regions of the globe left the SEF 2013 event filled with knowledgeable information from a cadre of individuals reckoned with in their respective areas of speciality.

The Speakers included Abdi Abdilahi (Dahabshiil), Mary Harper (BBC, Author and Somalia Expert), and Nouman Khalid (Barclays): Africa’s next frontier, Dr Ismail Ahmed – CEO, Worldremit, Akok M. Madut – Counsellor, Embassy of The Republic of South Sudan and Michael S. Mandu – Commercial Counsellor, Kenya Embassy.

While thanking Dahabshil for making the event possible as well as the speakers and guests for their participation Somali Economic Forum Chief executive Mr Hasan M Dudde said that the involvement of all those in attendance had made their annual Business and Professionals Event for 2013 a resounding success.

Mr Dudde who revealed that SEF would not have managed without the support of Dahabshil group which was the event’s gold sponsor said that the successes garnered worldwide by the indigenous Somali owned money transfer company are as a result of its generous corporate social responsibility that has seen millions of dollars disbursed to diverse development projects especially in the Horn of Africa.

In his address to event participants the UK manager of Dahabshil Mr Abdi Abdilahi gave a detailed history of the company which he termed as the largest since 1970 African money transfer business – trading company.

Other dignitaries to address the SEF 2013 event also revised the achievement of the Dahabshil group which they not only thanked for continued frontline participation in diverse community development activities but for its innovative and modern services that have brought ease of life to various communities.
