Somalilandsun – The Somaliland coast guard has seen its operational capabilities and effectiveness enhanced courtesy of a European Union Naval Force- EUNAVFOR skills and knowledge transfer program implemented under the aegis of Operation Atalanta.
This is per a press statement by the Mediaops the EUNAVFOR communications department that read “In April 2015, as part of Operation Atalanta EU Naval Force, HNLMS Johan de Witt trained with the Somaliland Coast Guard off the coast of Berbera. The training covered navigation, boat handling skills, engine maintenance and first aid”.
