HARGEISA: (Somalilandsun): -Mustaffe Osman Dahir, a Hargeisa City Councilor was sentenced to death on Monday by the Hargeisa Regional Court following conviction of a murder charge he committed against a friend, Rashid.
The councilor who was quite popular and admired by many city residents while he was a senior administrator at the council was accused, and now convicted, of murder of a friend, neighbor and fellow kinsman in the city earlier in the year.
Following the conviction he is expected to lose his seat at the council which will most likely see an aspirant Said M. Afqaloo’ named to the seat after it is officially declared vacant.
The assailant used a pistol during the incident which claimed the life of the victim.
