Somalilandsun: The brotherly relations existing between the people and governments of Somaliland and Djibouti are turning to developmentally beneficial.
This was unanimously agreed upon in Hargeisa where the president of Somaliland hosted a visiting Djibouti governnent delegation led by the neighbouring Country’s Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries HE Mohamed Ahmed Awale. (Mohamed Soomaali)

Quote- The President’s meeting with the Minister coincides with the intensification of brotherly, cooperative and neighborly relations between the Republic of Somaliland and the Republic of Djibouti which have recently been strengthened by the two countries,as exemplified by increased exchanges that have seen this visit become the second within a month.
“We welcome continued cooperation with our neighbours in Djibouti with whom we shall enhance relations at all fronts” President Bihi told his guests
The Somaliland team at the meeting included Vice President Abdirahman Sayli, Minister of Livestock & Fisheries Development Saeed Sulub and his Water Development colleague Mohamed Muse Diriye.

Addressing the Djiboutian Government official , Minister Mohamed Muse Diriye said ” we are very glad to have you here in Hargeisa where you are not a visitor because it is your second home, adding that the people of Somaliland honoured to have a new partnership with the Djibouti ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries,Water and Livestock, sectors that will be enhanced through our two government’s cooperation.
Stating that he was very comfortable in the country he calls his second home the Visiting Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Djibouti, Hon. Mohamed Awale (Mohamed Somaal) stressed that while he will take time out to meet ordinary people his main function is in pursuit of finalizing arrangements for joint Djibouti-Somaliland economic development especially in his sector mandate of water, fisheries ,agriculture and livestock.
“Within our shared borders live brotherly people thus this partnership towards enhancing livelihoods that begins with availing sustainable and clean water through creating sources like boreholes and dams” Said Minister Mohamed Somaal adding that consultations are ongoing on other targeted sectors more so as pertains to mitigating the climate change.
In conclusion minister Mohamed Awale said he was very optimistic of the planned development initiatives because he was not a politician but a technocrat. End
