Somalilandsun: 1290 Youthful Somalilanders have graduated from the university of Hargeisa.

This figure was awarded their degrees during a colourful function and 17th graduation held at the institution of higher learning in Hargeisa the capital of Somaliland.

The event witnessed by various dignitaries among them Somaliland national political Parties officials, diplomats, members of parliament, government officials, parents and members of the public from all walks of life had President Muse Bihi Abdi as chief guest.

In his address to the graduands and guests the Somaliland head of state first congratulated the graduates for their hard work that has resulted in success as well as the parents and university staffers who made it possible.

New batch of graduates to help enhance national development and Security

“ I take this opportunity to congratulate the dedicated parents, the hardworking teachers of the University and everyone who helped our young people to learn, it is a great and happy day for almost one thousand three hundred (1290) young people. Thanks to Allah, said the president adding that the new batch of graduates from different colleges will help enhance the country’s development and security through increase in the number of trained personnel in the Armed Forces as well as in the fight against diseases and more so in the economic sector.

After urging citizens to discard tribalistic tendencies thence invigorate their nationalism which is the only avenue for attaining all Somaliland aspirations the president called for a modern opposition political party activism Stating that “The job of the opposition parties is to cover up the mistakes of the government. It is their job and we in government welcome it.”

President Bihi commended Hargeisa university staffers and parents for dedication leading to the graduation

In the same breath The President also commended the Ministries of Health and Education for their efforts in the Covid19 epidemic while thanking the private sector for material and financial support towards the fight against spread of the virus in the country.

Finally, the President said that the time for the House of Representatives and local councils elections is imminent and that it should be one that leads to development and prosperity for the people

“While political differences are everywhere and is the norm in a democracy like ours, let’s partake in the forthcoming elections as brothers and sisters which is a sure route for attaining our ultimate aspirations namely national development and international recognition.
