As Saferworld briefs outcome of the 2017 UN High-Level Political Forum do its job
Somalilandsun- Last month almost two and a half thousand civil society representatives from across the world descended on New York to participate in the second United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) to review global progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Saferworld have been actively involved in the SDG process – playing a significant role during the negotiation phase, and now supporting national actors to advance SDG commitments to peaceful, just and inclusive societies. Last year we attended the HLPF and, among other things, observed that it should become a much more dynamic and inclusive forum if there is to be an open and constructive conversation between and among member states, civil society and other stakeholders.
