Somaliland sun- Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, Chad, Niger, Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, and Senegal are in a move to arrest the creeping desertification within the Sahel-Sub Saharan emanating from the sprawling Sahara, worlds biggest desert.
In an ambitious 2007 Pan African plan the eleven countries are jointly executing a $2 billion dollar project to erect a 15 kilometers (9 miles) wide and 7,775 kilometers (4,831 miles) long tree wall stretching all the way from Senegal in west Africa to Djibouti in the east dubbed the “Great Green Wall”
