about imminent return of Bubaa to Somaliland

Somalilandsun – The Somaliweyn ideology made sense in the 60s and that’s why these old folks cling to it now, it came from them. It was a hopeful ideology that arose at the end of colonial rule and by the way who cares what this or that old man thinks or feels when the vast majority of Somalilanders are young people who have never been under Mogadishu rule and don’t care to be? I’m tired of these old decrepit baby boomers with their wavering ideologies. Who cares what this or that old man thinks or feels when the vast majority of Somalilanders are young people who have never been under Mogadishu rule and don’t care to be?

The Somaliweyn ideology made sense in the 60s. And that’s why these old folks cling to it now, it came from them. It was a hopeful ideology that arose at the end of colonial0le. However it bore no 0it. It didn’t even actually unite the ethnic Somali people. And for those Somali’s it did “unite”, it wasn’t real unity because they never stopped killing each other. Anyone who buys into Somaliweyn ideology in the twenty first century needs their head examined. When someone tells me they are a pan-Somali or Somaliweyn individual, I think of them like I do communists – That’s cool, but let’s be honest, it’s a dead twentieth century ideology which failed, and it’s far more romantic than realistic.

I always wondered how Somaliweyn people reconcile their anti-colonialis t sentiments with their continued denial of Somalilanders right to self-determinat ion and rejection of Somaliweyn. Is it their intention to hold the Somaliland people against their will, you know, sort of like the colonialist did??? All Somali people can prosper and we are all brothers, sisters, FAMILY, but the reality is political unity was always just a dream. And the more they insist on it against the wishes of the majority of Somalilanders, the longer we will all be a poor people, fighting over scraps thrown at us by foreign institutions and governments. Be realistic and stop wasting time with the Somaliweyn ideology distraction. There are more important things to consider, and we have so much catching up to do.Cheers
