Somalilandsun – Dahabshil group of companies has donated cash to assist Yemeni refugees fleeing the ongoing blood conflict in that country currently living in Somaliland.
In a brief ceremony held this week at the company headquarters in Hargeisa, Dahabshil officials handed the cash donation to the Yemeni refugees committee to provide vital assistance to 130 displaced families currently living.
Mr. Bassam Awad Ali Abdulhabib , the chairman of the committee representing Yemeni refuges speaking during the brief committee said, “I would to thank Dahabshil group for its generosity and also for the continued assistance it provides to Yemeni refugees in Somaliland and those in neighboring countries especially during this hard times.
“The cash donation will be equally distributed among 130 Yemeni refugee families currently living in Somaliland”, Mr. Bassam Awad Ali Abdulhabib said.
Earlier this month, Dahabshil owned “MV DAHAB” provided free transportation to 120 Yemeni refuges families consisting of 280 persons.
Last month Dahabshil donated $30,000 dollars to support vulnerable Yemeni refugees sheltering in a refugee camp situated in the coastal town Bosaso, Puntland.
The money remittance company has in the past months paid the travel costs of 300 Somali nationals fleeing the conflict in Yemen for continued their journey to Somalia
