Date: 23.052017

The President of Republic of Somaliland;
H.E. Ahmed Mohamed (Silanyo)

In The Name of ALLAH the Most Merciful Most Magnificent;

The terrorist attack in Manchester on Monday, 22.05.2017 was alarming and heartbreaking. The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E. Ahmed Mohamed (Silanyo), his government and people of Somaliland are strongly condemning the horrific attack which has left scores of innocent people dead, including children as young as 8 years old. This barbaric attack was outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians; it was an attack on all of humanity and the universal values.

22 people died in the terrorist attack in Manchester The people who launched the attack in Manchester wish to undermine the things that the people of this great city of Manchester hold most precious which are democratic freedom, openness and tolerance. They want to set religion against religion, community against community, and neighbour against neighbour. They want to spread fear and terror among the peaceful and civilised society of this global city (Manchester) where I had done my studies many years ago.

In these sad moments we wish the people of Great Britain as a whole, and in particularly the people of Manchester all strength and our thoughts, sympathy and condolences go out to the people of Great Britain, British government and in particularly to those victims of the terror attack and their families.
