Somalilandsun – The government has established a team of journalists with research and investigation skills with the mandate of pursuing reasons behind the increase in fatal road accidents in the country.

This was revealed by the minister of information, culture and National guidance Osman Abdilahi Sahardid during the state burial in Hargeisa of 10 of the 14 citizens who died following a fatal road accident between Dilla and Gebile on Friday.

“We extend our condolences to the family and relatives of the perished souls” said Minister Sahardid at the graveside where he led a large government delegation that included several of his colleagues and other ranking officials.

Apart from the high level government representation at the mass burial others who attended included a large number of ordinary citizens as well as numerous religious/traditional leaders in addition to an array of politicians and legislators led by the speaker of parliament and wadani party leader Abdirahman Irro.

Abdirahman Irro at the burialThe fatal road accident that led to the mass burial at the road linking the capital Hargeisa to the Western region of Awdal as well as neighbouring country of Djibouti saw 14 people among them four family members loss their lives while nine others were seriously injured after a PSV collided head on with a land cruiser.
