Somalilandsun- The contractual obligations of Dubai Ports World-DPW as pertains Development and management of Berbera port shall be monitored closely by the European firms.
According to a statement released in Hargeisa the government of Somaliland has contracted three European firms to peruse the agreement entered between the Government’s of the United Arab Emirates-UAE and Somaliland in which DP World a global operator owned by the Emiratis is to manage and develop the port of Berbera for a period of 30 years.
The port development contract in which DP World shall input over $400m towards modernizing and establishing new infrastructures to world standards as well personnel Development in addition to helping complete the Berbera corridor that connects the port to neighboring Ethiopia has now to contend with specialized firms establishing parameters especially as relates to the benefits to be accrued by locals.
Accordingly the Unites Kingdom based EY Building a better working world firm has been contracted to oversee all the financial aspects of the DP World agreement more so as the ultimate take home for both the global port developer and Government of Somaliland that owns the port of Berbera.

On the finer points of international agreements the government of. Somaliland has secured the services of NIRAS a Danish firm that is to peruse the DP World contract and make recommendations as to how best local citizens can accrue maximum benefits from one of their most important source of income and national prestige.NIRAS is an international, multidisciplinary consultancy company with over 1400 employees located in offices in Europe, Asia and Africa
Though the revealing statement is not explicit as pertains duration the three firms shall provide services, or the 
figures in subsequent fee pays the actual inclusion of other international firms in the DP World contract shall go a long way in not only ensuring fair practices but allay fears among the citizenry as per transparency and accountability.
Now that the government is demystifying the contract which is the Largest with an international firm signed by Somaliland in the 25 years since it reclaimed its sovereignty after collapse of the Somalia republic in 1991, hopefully the actually Implementation of related obligations can be expedited.
