Somalilandsun: The Republic of Somaliland Representative Office in Taiwan (The Republic of Somaliland Representative Office in Taiwan) held an unveiling ceremony this morning. Minister of Foreign Affairs Wu Zhaoxie attended the opening ceremony and enthusiastically expressed to Somaliland’s representative Mohamed Omar Hagi Mohamoud, “Taiwan is your second home!”

The Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi participated in the function held in Taipei via video from where he conveyed cross-sea blessings , emphasizing that the two countries belong to the democratic camp. Sharing universal values ​​such as political and economic freedom, he eagerly hopes that the relationship between the two sides will strengthen the economic, trade and cooperative development of the two countries through the establishment of representative offices in each other.

Taiwan and Somaliland announced in early July that they would set up representative offices. Somaliland’s first representative to Taiwan, Ambassador Mohamoud, arrived in Taiwan in early August. After completing the two-week home quarantine, he quickly prepared for the opening of the embassy. The opening ceremony was held at the Foreign Affairs University this morning. Minister Wu Zhaoxie and envoys from various countries attended the opening of the Somalialand.

The Somaliland representative office is located in a residential building in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City. Taiwan’s representative office in the Republic of Somalia officially opened on August 17, and bilateral technical cooperation agreements were signed.
