Somalilandsun:The president of Somaliland H.E Musa Bihi Abdi last night visited a
bereaved family in Hargeisa’s Qudha-Dheer area. A mother and her two
children were swept away by the raging flood’s water. According to reports
reaching Somaliland News Agency (SOLNA) the head of state went to console
the mourning family who had been stuck by the will of God Almighty.
This comes following a heavy down pour in Hargeisa and her environs. The
rain which was accompanied by wind lashed out for more than an hour.
The bereaved family lost a mother who had strapped her baby at the back and
a young girl who could also be referred as a toddler.
Sources informed SOLNA that after the floods had subside a search team was
dispatched to look for the bodies however the mother was found but in an
unconscious state while the small girl was found dead. As we went to press
the baby boy strapped on the mother’s back had not yet been found.
Neighbors confirmed that the family had just rented the two bed roomed
corrugated iron sheet house two day ago. The house was situated inside a
seasonal river.
The father of the children whose name was given as Ahmed Qorane was
consoled by the president. President Musa promised to help the family
resettle at a new site and prayed to Almighty Allah to give the bereaved
family patience and faith during this trying moment of their lives.
