Somaliland: President Urges Youth to Distance from Oppositionist Politicians


As he inaugurates new premises for SONYO in Hargeisa where he says achievements by his administration are visible even to the blind

HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The Somaliland National Youth Organization –SONYO has moved to new ultra-modern buildings.
The new headquarters of the Umbrella group that brings all Somaliland youth organizations under one roof were inaugurated by President Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo
“I urge youths in the country to avoid believing anti-government propaganda spewed by opposition politicians” said president Silanyo as he cut the tape thus officially opening the new building for use.

While Terming the youth in Somaliland as increasingly becoming an educated elite the head of state said that his administration has done much and the future leaders should be left to judge on the tangible performance by all as opposed to useless propaganda.
In conclusion President Silanyo said that the increasing number of youths holding responsible positions at all levels is testimony of his administrations endeavors not to mention improved livelihoods nationwide.

The new SONYO building which is wholly owned and located in the capital Hargeisa was constructed with the support of various local and international well-wishers on land availed by the government of Somaliland.
