HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – For the first time in the country’s history secondary school students have received a one-o-one briefing from the president of Somaliland.
The briefing by the President H.E. Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo took place during a visit to the presidency in Hargeisa by secondary school student representatives accompanied by minister of education Hon Zamzam Abdi Aden.
Upon thanking the student representatives for their visit and desire to familiarize on state affairs, Dr Silanyo The head of state informed that every citizen has the right to visit the presidency and meet with him, the president, without let or hindrance.
“It is my great pleasure to host you, the first student delegation, at the presidency and to give you briefing on state affairs” said Dr Silanyo
After a candid question and answers session a jubilant president congratulated the secondary school students for not their grasp of relevant issues but their bold move in seeking a one-o-one with him.
While decrying current trends of negative criticism of the government president Silanyo urged other communities to emulate the young students and seek factual information from relevant authorities.
The head of state who further informed that the presidency is open to all those seeking an audience with him, told the students that he is at their beck and call 24/7
