Somaliland: Police Seize Hawd Region Based Alcohol

BALIGUBADLE (Somalilandsun) – Police in Baligubadle have confisticated illicit alcohol in an operation to fight immorality in the Hawd region.

A journalist based in Baligubadle town Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Awale told local Somali language website Gudgude news that the officer commanding Hawd regional police colonel Jamal Abdi Jama confirmed to him that his officers had nabbed a saloon car carrying a consignment of Ethiopian gin destined to the Somaliland capital city Hargeisa.

The police boss further added that the illegal cargo was packed in 33 Jeri cans adding that police from Sayla and Bali-Abane cooperated in the operation of which a Suzuki car was impounded and three suspects arrested.

The commanding officer went on to say that the suspects with be arraigned in court a soon a possible. He added that they will do all in the powers to fight immorality in the country by arresting those profiting in alcohol importation.
