HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – The president of Somaliland Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo has appointed a governor for the newly created Haysimo Region in the East of the country.
In a presidential decree #/M/XERM/249-2670/082014 the president appointed Mr. Abdirashid Mohamed Ahmed ‘Hiir’ as the governor of Haysimo region.
The head of state who attributed his powers to appoint to Article 90 section 110 of the Somaliland constitution and consultations with relevant authorities said the appointee should assume duties with immediate effect.
Haysimo region curved out of the wider Sool region was created last month and shall be headquartered in Taleeh town where the regional authorities shall manage affairs.
