BURAO (Somalilandsun) – Residents of Toghdeer region with literary interests are to benefit from a library established at the regional capital by Halkaraan-a reading and writing club.
The library launch event was graced by a cross section of participants which included intellectuals, writers, youth and women as well as a delegation from Red Sea Cultural center at Hargeisa.
Addressing the launch function chairwomen of Reading & Writing Club Halkaran Burao Nasra keyse Dirie who congratulated all guests especially those who traveled from Hargeisa before she detailed the different stages of their mission that culminated in the successful establishment of the library in the Eastern region of Somaliland
Lastly, a certificate of appreciation was awarded Burao Local Council for their continuous assistance towards halkaran Burao club.
The Halkaraan-a reading and writing club established facility is the first public library in Burao and the entire Toghdeer region where libraries are only available at institution of higher learning thence unavailable to the wider public.
