Somalilandsun: The government of Somaliland welcomes the opportunity to strengthen partnership with like mandated nations to advance democracy, promote free market economies and protect this strategic region against enduring threats.
This is per a statement issued by the ministry of foreign affairs in Hargeisa, supporting the planned withdrawal of the 700 U.S troops based in Somalia.
According to statement from the US Department of Defense , US President Donald Trump has ordered the US Department of Defense and Command of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) to relocate most US troops inside Somalia and their equipment, in early 2021.
In the statement issued on Saturday, Somaliland said the intentions by the US to withdraw troops from Somalia sends a strong signal to the Horn of Africa, adding that each nation should strive to promote peace independently by pursuing internal conflict resolution management
