Somalilandsun – The Hargeisa International Book Fair, one of the largest celebrations of literature and the arts in East Africa, took place in Somaliland recently, which declared independence in 1991 but remains unrecognized internationally.
This year’s festival, now in its sixth year, was the biggest yet, attracting authors, poets, musicians and other artists from all over the world, including Kenya, Nigeria, Italy and the UK. The festival attracts readers young and old.
