As General Shakale applauds vigilance and diligence of units based in Sool region where heavily armed forces from Puntland are preparing attack

LAS ANOD (Somalilandsun) – The Somaliland army is fully prepared and ready to defend the country from external attacks.
The warning was issued by the Somaliland Chief of General Staff Major General Ismail Mohamed Shakale during an inspection tour of army bases in Sool Region.
Gen Shakale who met and held discussions with troops manning army bases in Hudun, Gambade and Kalabayd in Sool region commented them for their vigilance against incursions by armed militias from Puntland supported by Somalia federal Government-SFG trained forces.
Puntland an SFG regional administration has in the recent past amassed in Tukaraq village a large contingent of heavily armed militias under supervision of army officers from Mogadishu with the intent of creating insecurity within Somaliland.
Warning that the Somaliland exists for nothing else but defence of the country against external aggression Gen Shakale who commended his troops for vigilance warned that those intent on attacks based incursions into the country should expect deadly and expedited reprisals
The Chief of staff who is accompanied by senior officers from army headquarters in Hargeisa is on a regular status inspection tour of Sool region based units.
