Somaliland sun -A large number of human skeletons are have been laid bare at the Bojol-jire cermetery in Hargeisa following heavy rains in the Somaliland capital.
The cemetery dubbed century old is the final resting place of a many city residents buried there for decades and the proximity to seasonal river beds has led to the mass exposures in which various human skeletons have been scattered out of the graves.
Though a factual number of the desecrated graves is yet to be ascertained residents of neighbouring estates are and have been involved in voluntary efforts towards re-establishing a semblance of honourable reburial of the exposed skeletons.
In the meantime neither the ministry of Religious affairs with mandate on cemetery management nor the Hargeisa municipality picked a shovel towards rectifying the now out of control situation at the Bogol-jire cemetery.
